A fantastic effort from a large group of volunteers made sure that our first fund raising event went off with a bang – even if at times it got a bit soggy!
Northants 96’s Black Thunder came along and joined in the fun – including a wet sponge fight! Black Thunder was washed – with plenty of willing volunteers, including the Black Thunder girls.
With Alan Yeend on the jet wash the cars (and the odd boy, mum or anyone else that passed too close!) were getting a thorough soaking. Everyone who came down to help were kept busy all day – especially with Alan running all over the car park chasing down victims (or should I say customers!). Just a few individual thank you’s to Alan and George Yeend, Jill, James, Eleanor and Alice Flannery and Ashley Pearson (a demon with a chamois leather!) who stuck with us all day! There was obviously a side competition going on amongst the boys – which was who can get the wettest in the shortest time possible? High on the list were Josh Stephenson, Matthew Wainwright, Elliott Williams and Kieran Davies!
With the second team playing at home, we had plenty of victims! A big thank you to everyone who let us loose on their cars, and the very brave people that even left their keys with us for our “valet parking service”.
I would love to name everyone that came along, but space is limited – so to everyone, helpers and customers alike a big THANK YOU! You helped us raise an amazing £202 on the day. We even had our own bit of fairy magic giving us a helping hand!
Photo’s can be seen in the gallery and for a short time on Northants 96’s website at www.northants96.co.uk on the Black Thunder web page.
Despite numerous requests from the boys we will NOT be doing this every week! Although look out for our next Car Wash, coming soon to a car park near a rugby pitch!…………tell your family, friends and work colleagues – for one day only the best car wash in town!
